SSI Technical XR (50 – 60m)
Technical Extended Range
The SSI Technical XR program opens the door to deeper diving expeditions by providing divers with the training necessary to independently plan and conduct two-gas switch, multiple-stop decompression dives to a depth of 50m on Air.
This course can also be done using Trimix, allowing you to push your dive limits even further – up to 60m – and learn to manage the use of helium during deep decompression dives.
Upgrade from SSI Technical XR (Air) to Trimix
Students who complete the Technical XR (Air) course can easily upgrade to SSI Tech XR Trimix upon completing all academic sessions, final exam, and the final 2 dives of the Tech XR Trimix (60m) course.
Duration: 4-5 days, 7 dives
Maximum Depth: 50m (Air) / 60m (Trimix)
Course Materials: digital eLearning
Students must have at least 1 of the following SSI certifications (or equivalent):
- SSI Extended Range (Air/Trimix)
- SSI Full Cave Diving
- Technical Wreck Diving
And logged at least:
- 70 total dives
- 20 dives deeper than 30m
- 10 dives requiring staged deco with at least 1 gas switch (not including training dives)
Medical Sign-off
- students must provide a Medical Participant Questionnaire, approved and signed by a licensed medical practitioner based on a diving medical examination and dated within one year of the training completion date, prior to any in-water activity
Most training will take place directly in the sea in one of our protected bays at Lighthouse and/or Mashraba. Once you gain control of body and equipment you may visit different dive sites at the Instructor’s discretion.
We keep our classes small in order to provide a more personalized learning experience. Our SSI Technical XR course has an average of 2 students with 3 being the max.
