Become certified to conduct your own Reef Check surveys and take an active role in conserving your favorite coral reefs. This course allows participants to learn about the globally standardized Reef Check methodology as well as how to identify key indicator fish, invertebrates and substrates selected by Reef Check for global monitoring and conservation Becoming a Reef Check EcoDiver will allow you to join the Reef Check monitoring team and assist with underwater surveys around the world.
4-Day Program (includes 6 dives)
- attend a series of presentations and identification workshops introducing you to the Reef Check survey methods
- go on 4 dives to find and identify the fish, invertebrates and substrate discussed during the workshops
- learn how to work in a team while using the Reef Check survey method
- submit survey data and provide valid scientific information to researchers, scientists, and fellow conservationistsbecome a citizen scientist and be able to join Reef Check surveys anywhere in the world
