TDI Extended Range

This course is considered the most advanced course you can take that still involves using air as your back gas.

The TDI Extended Range:

• Teaches you to control multiple stage cylinders in the water
• You will make extended/accelerated decompression stops using two different gases.
• Increases your depth limit to 55m (TDI).

You will use a twinset with two stage cylinders during the course, thereby teaching you more advanced gas switching techniques. Dive using air as a back gas and stage cylinders containing a higher nitrox mix will allow you to extend your diving range on air, and will give you access to sites that are well outside the limits of recreational diving.

Among the other subjects covered in this course are dive management and planning, equipment requirements and the hazards associated with deeper diving.

While the course requires only 4 dives (2 training dives, 2 deco dives) to complete, here at Scuba Seekers we believe 1 or 2 extra dives are incredibly beneficial to maximise student confidence and safety. If needed, these additional experience enhancing dives are included in the price of the course.

TDI Extended Range in Dahab:

The training part of the course will be performed inside Dahab bay. And for the final deco dives we have plenty of Dahab’s great sites with deep reef walls, valleys and canyons to choose from.

TDI Extended Range vs Trimix Diver

If you are a certified TDI Decompression Procedures you can choose between sign up for  Extended Range or directly Trimix Diver.

TDI Extended Range is a very rewarding course and a useful continuation of deco training. Deep dive with air as your back gas is a valid option, specially in areas where helium is not available. But if you are planing to dive in challenging environmental conditions -for example cold water, limited visibility or a physically demanding dive- our recommendation is to learn to use mix gases from the beginning and join the TDI Trimix Diver directly.
