SSI’s Core Technical Program
The SSI Extended Range (40 – 45m) course offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles, techniques, and procedures essential for decompression diving.
The course comes with 3 different outcome options based on your current dive experience, performance during the course, and your future technical diving goals.
Divers can either be certified up to 40m on Nitrox, 45m on Air, or 45m on Trimix. Each of these levels builds upon the previous one, making upgrading simple and straightforward.
SSI Extended Range
The SSI Extended Range Nitrox course is great for divers who are short on time or looking to see what decompression diving is all about before committing to more advanced technical courses. This course can either be done using double tanks or on sidemount.
Upon completion, this program certifies divers:
- to independently plan and conduct decompression dives up to 40m
- to use decompression gas mixtures of up to 100% oxygen
- to have a maximum accumulated decompression time of 15 minutes
Upgrade to SSI XR Air/Trimix (45m)
Students who complete the SSI XR Nitrox program may credit the course’s 4 open water dives toward the next course. In order to upgrade, students must complete all academic sessions, final exam, and the final 2 dives of the Extended Range Air/Trimix course.
Duration: 2-3 days, 5 dives
Maximum Depth: 40m

Students must meet the below requirements:

if conducting course on Sidemount, a Recreational Sidemount Diving certification is required
All dive training will take place directly in the sea in one of our protected bays at Lighthouse and/or Mashraba.
We keep our classes small in order to provide a more personalized learning experience. Our SSI XR Nitrox course has a maximum of 2 students.
Course Fee: 190 Euro per day*
eLearning/Certification Fee: 80 Euro
Price is per day as depending on student performance, it takes 2 or 3 days. Price includes full technical gear hire
SSI Extended Range
The SSI Extended Range (Air 45m) course is SSI’s cornerstone tec program and is your first taste of diving beyond recreational limits. This course can either be done using double tanks or on sidemount.
Upon completion, this program certifies divers:
- to independently plan and conduct decompression dives up to 45m
- to use decompression gas mixtures of up to 100% oxygen
- to have a maximum accumulated decompression time of 25 minutes
Upgrade to SSI Extended Range Trimix (45m)
In order to upgrade, students must complete all academic sessions, final exam, and the final 2 trimix dives of the Extended Range Trimix course.
Duration: 4-5 days, 7 dives
Maximum Depth: 45m

SSI Extended Range
The SSI Extended Range (Trimix 45m) course includes everything you learned in the previous Extended Range Nitrox and Air 45m modules, but here you also learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix breathing gases. This course can either be done using double tanks or on sidemount.
Upon completion, this program certifies divers:
- to independently plan and conduct trimix decompression dives up to 45m
- to use decompression gas mixtures of up to 100% oxygen
- to have a maximum accumulated decompression time of 25 minutes
Duration: 4-5 days, 7 dives
