Thistlegorm Day Trip (Rec)

World famous wreck diving

A dive trip out to the world famous Thistlegorm is definitely something you do not want to miss. It is routinely listed as one of the best shipwreck dives in the world. The SS Thistlegorm was a British vessel that came under attack from the air and was sunk in 1941 during World War II. Lying at a depth of 30 metres, it has transformed into a huge underwater museum. It still holds much of its original cargo of war supplies including rifles, ammunition, motorbikes, train carriages, and trucks, all of which remain intact. It is also home to a rich array of marine life such as crocodile fish, large groupers, scorpionfish, batfish, giant moray, and turtles.
At 131 metres long, you will want to dive the Thistlegorm more than once to fully explore this massive wreck. Step into the past and enjoy an amazing day.

While not mandatory, we recommend diving the Thistlegorm with nitrox as it allows a longer bottom time to fully explore the wreck. The Nitrox course is a half-day dry course and can be taken the day before the trip if you are interested.

As this is an advanced dive, we require a check-dive (or full Refresh if it has been more than 6 months since your last dive) a minimum of one day before the trip so we can get your weights and equipment adjusted.

Please note: for the Thistlegorm trip we use our partners in Sharm who arrange the boat, however you will still be with a guide from Scuba Seekers. We give them a window of dates and they let us know when the boat is running. They cannot confirm the actual dates until a few days before the trip, as they are also working with other partners and have a lot of variables that affect their trips. The trip is therefore subject to boat availability. We will do our best to make it happen but in the end we cannot guarantee the trip will run over your dates, as we do not have the final say.
