Terms and Conditions

For all bookings with Scuba Seekers the following standard terms and conditions apply. If you have any questions about these, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

  • Alcohol, Drugs and Diving

    Guests will not be permitted to dive after consuming alcohol or drugs or if they appear to be under the influence of a hangover or any drugs (even if prescribed).

    If one of our dive guides decide that a person is unfit to dive, the guest will be asked to sit out the dive and any costs to the dive centre will not be refunded.

  • Behaviour

    Serious Anti-social or aggressive behaviour towards colleagues, guides and/or other guests will not be tolerated and individuals who cause a disturbance may be asked to leave the dive centre and will not be refunded any amounts paid.

  • Booking Process

    To apply for permits with relevant authorities and to provide the best service the details below are required with booking confirmation but latest three days before arrival

    • Copy of passport photo page/national ID card
    • Copy of diving licence held, number of logged dives, Diving insurance and policy number
    • Date of Last Dive (Month/Year) – if more than a six months ago, a reactivate will be required
    • Diving Equipment needed

    For transfers:
    • Flight details (to include the following: airline, airport, flight number, arrival, and departure time) and full name of hotel if you do not intend to come directly to the dive centre

    Unless you have uploaded copies, you are required to bring the following before your first day of diving (where appropriate):
    – Passport or National ID (valid minimum 6 months on departure date)
    – Your diving certification cards (highest certs for each gas, unit, or configuration)
    – Your logbook
    – Travel, Health and/or mandatory Diving Insurance

  • Daily Cancellation and Refund Policy

    Single dive (not whole course or package) cancellations received before 15:00 on the day prior to the activity booked will not incur a cancellation fee.

    Single dive cancellations (not whole course or package)received after 15:00 on the day prior to the activity booked, will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of full booked activity cost.

    Any cancellations received the same day of the departure for the activity booked, or failure to show (No Show) will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of full activity booked cost.

    Please note that the Dive Centre closes at 18:00 and cancellations incurred after this time will be considered as received on the next day.

    Note: Reservations cancelled due to bad weather will not incur a cancellation fee, and customers can choose to either reschedule or receive a full refund for the activity.

    Whole course or package cancellations are covered by the terms in the paragraph below.

    If a dive is cancelled at site or aborted, the charge to the customer will depend on the reason for the cancellation/aborted dive and when during the dive the reason for cancellation / abortion happened. Details about this can be obtained from the counter team during your stay.

  • Deposit and Cancellation

    For all courses and excursions out of Dahab we require a deposit of 50% of the cost of the course or excursion at the time of booking. The invoice balance must be paid 14 days before the start of your course or diving package.

    If you cancel before your course, or excursion you will forfeit:

    5 Weeks or More (35 days+) – 25% of invoice total

    4-5 Weeks (29-34 days) – 35% of invoice total

    2-4 Weeks (15-28 days) – 50% of invoice total

    Up to 2 Weeks (1-14 days) – 100 % of invoice total

    For guided dives and excursions within Dahab we require a deposit of 25% of our estimated cost of your diving package at the time of booking.

    The invoice balance must be paid 14 days before the start of your course or diving package.

    If you cancel before your trip,

    2 Weeks or More (15 days+) – 25% of invoice total

    Up to 2 Weeks (1-14 days) – 100 % of invoice total

    COVID:

    If travel restrictions are implemented by your local government or the government of Egypt due to COVID 19 (Coronavirus) which means you are unable to travel, then the following will apply:

    Free rescheduling: up to 30 days prior to departure

    Maximum postponement: 12 months from the original departure date

    All cancellations must be made in writing to info@scubaseekers.com with relevant proof of the reason for cancellation (if this is as a result of the action of your local government), cancellation fees are charged from date of written cancellation received by Scuba Seekers. Any cancellations, especially for individual bookings must be sent without any delay

    If we cancel your course or trip, we will inform you as soon as we are able to. We will make our best efforts to find you an alternative date within three months of the original date. If this is not suitable you will be entitled to a refund of 100% of your monies paid. Scuba Seekers is not liable for any other costs incurred by you in this circumstance.

    Please note that some courses have a minimum student requirement and that cancellation by a third party may cause a course to be cancelled or postponed. If this is the case, you will be informed of this risk at the time of booking. We cannot be held responsible if as a result of a third party cancelling their course, your course cannot be held as planned. We will make our best efforts to find a replacement student or to reschedule the course to a convenient date. If we cannot do this, we will refund you 100% of the money you have paid.

  • CDWS Regulations

    The Egyptian governing body, the Chamber of Diving and Watersports (CDWS), places regulations concerning diving, snorkelling and water sports, which must be adhered to.

  • Check Dives and Reactivate

    Divers who are not immediately on a course are required to do a local check dive before any other diving activities with us. If they have not dived within the last six months, they will instead be asked to do a Reactivate dive to ensure basic skill training has been carried out before other diving activities.

  • Dive Equipment

    Use of a dive computer on all dives and a torch at any night dive is mandatory. Certain dives also have a requirement to carry a Surface Marker Buoy

  • Entry Requirements and Visas

    Scuba Seekers does not accept any liability for customers who are refused entry to the country. Guests must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the countries to or through which they are intending to travel. Their passport must be valid for at least six more months after leaving Egypt and must include a suitable Egyptian entry stamp or visa.

    Guests are responsible for checking with an Egyptian Embassy that, for the passport they hold, a visa can be issued on arrival in Egypt, and are strongly advised to use the Evisa service: https://visa2egypt.gov.eg/eVisa/Home for additional certainty.

  • Equipment Rental

    Rental equipment should be pre-booked to ensure availability, especially during peak seasons.

    Please include sizes and shoe size to arrange suitable gear.

    At the time of issue, each guest must inspect their equipment, and check is it all in good working order and free of defects before first use.

    Any damage or loss while the rental equipment is under the responsibility of the guest should be immediately reported to our guides or the counter, and any damage or loss will be charged to the customer.

    Dust caps must be securely in place before rinsing. Failure to do so will result in a 10EUR fee as we need to send it for maintenance.

  • Experience

    If the guide or counter team have any doubts about the diver’s safety and/or qualifications, certain dive activities may be refused or restricted.

  • Force Majeure

    Force majeure is defined as any event which we as the supplier of the service could not foresee or avoid. Such events may include pandemics, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, port closures, fire, and all similar events outside our control.

    If any performance or prompt performance is prevented or affected by “force majeure”. Scuba Seekers will not accept liability or pay compensation.

  • Insurance

    Scuba Seekers recommends strongly that customers have adequate non-diving insurance to cover non-diving risks.

    Third-party liability insurance to European standards is not available in Egypt.

    We further recommend that all diving guests have adequate diving insurance to cover all the activities in which they will be involved. All technical diving guests are required to have insurance valid for all activities in which they are involved.

    The service provider is not liable for medical treatments in case of an accident or an incident or any consequential transportation costs.

  • Itineraries

    All dives are subject to diver’s experience and weather. All dives, whether shore dives, day boat dive and live aboard itineraries are subject to the approval of the Egyptian Government, Coast Guard and Marine Police.

    Any pre-booked itineraries or schedules are not guaranteed and might be changed due to any of the reasons above. Every effort will be made to complete any itinerary, but no guarantee can be given to dive at specific sites or on any specific day.

    If specific dives are missed or dive sites cannot be reached due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseeable events, Scuba Seekers will not offer a refund or compensation, including all Marine Park and extra fees (not refundable).

    Kindly arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before departure of your dive, courtesy to your fellow divers and to ensure that the dive leaves on schedule.

  • Jurisdiction

    Scuba Seekers is an Egyptian Company and comes under Egyptian law.

  • Medical

    If medical clearance is required, this clearance (signed and stamped) must be arranged prior to diving.

    In the interest of safety, Scuba Seekers reserves the right to request a “Fit to Dive” certificate from a qualified local diving physician in case of any doubts.

    If a doctor’s medical cannot or will not be provided, guests will not be allowed to join any diving activities.

  • No Fly Time

    It is all divers’ responsibility to respect their relevant no-fly time and to avoid going to altitude (e.g., mountain areas in Sinai) after their most recent dive

  • Paperwork

    We are obliged to prove and check that all divers hold valid certification, an up-to-date dive log and that they have signed a medical statement and liability release form prior to any diving.

    To participate in diving activities, you will therefore be required to complete a registration form, complete, and sign relevant ‘liability releases & assumptions of risk’ papers, cancellation policies and ‘medical disclaimer’ forms. If required you may also need to provide a current medical (not more than 12 months old).

    Snorkelers are also required to fill a registration form and liability release.

  • Payment

    For all courses and excursions out of Dahab we require a deposit of 50% of the cost of the course or excursion at the time of booking.

    For guided dives or excursions within Dahab we require a deposit of 25% of our estimated cost of your diving package at the time of booking.

    Full payment of the balance must be received at the latest 14 days before your intended first day diving or immediately if within 14 days.

    Payment can be made by transfer to our bank account in Egypt or online as advised. Please note that these items must be paid in time to clear either before the due date of payment or for items added locally, before your checkout (up to three working days).

    Should we not receive all the payments due in full and on time (including any surcharges where applicable),  we may assume that you wish to cancel your booking.

    For non-included locally paid items (national park fees, on board sales) payment must be made locally by using cash in Euro, USD, or Egyptian L.E, or by credit card in Euro or Egyptian Pounds.

  • Solo Diving

    Solo diving is strictly prohibited.

  • Special requests & disabilities

    Any special request or medical condition (handicap) must be advised in writing at the time of request so that we can advise as to the suitability of the chosen arrangements and will only be considered accepted when agreed by us in writing.

    If we feel unable reasonably to accommodate the needs of the person concerned or are unable to get suitable clearance from any agency to carry out a course if requested, we reserve the right to decline the reservation or, if full details are not given at the time of booking, cancel any diving or courses when we become aware of these details.

  • Transfers

    Transfers to and from any location to the dive centre are not included with any bookings but can be requested at the time of booking. They need to be paid in advance.

    Transfers are usually private transfers, but we may include people who are arriving on the same flight or a flight arriving at a similar time.

    If arrival transfer information is not provided at least three days prior to the start date of the trip, we cannot guarantee a transfer.
